Meet Our Wilderness Guides

Blake
I have been passionate about rewilding since long before I ever heard the word. I have been practicing ancestral skills since I was a small child. I grew up in the MN Northwoods, running free and learning from my mistakes. I began learning formal skills when I was about 11. I practiced leatherwork most days. I did a short blacksmith apprenticeship. I made my first bow when I was in 2nd grade.
Now I am a father of 2, Happy husband, and an RN. When I was in my 20s and 30s, I taught Survival and bushcraft skills nearly full time. First with Future Necessities School of survival and Primitive technology. Then a much longer time as North Winds Wilderness School. North Winds was literally my lifelong dream turned real, but COVID put a sudden and unceremonious end to that. Now in our 4th incarnation, we are coming back. Rewild MN is a new path. We aren't in this for money or profit, we are in this to spread the love of nature, and the feral lifestyle that rewilding carries. We are also out to build community within the greater twin cities area.
